A 48 x 40 pallet of canned goods and a pallet of packaging film need very different beams. We size each level to its real load, so you are not paying for steel you do not use. Frame height follows clear height and forklift reach. In a 20 ft building with standard loads, four beam levels are common. In the newer 28-36 ft clear distribution buildings along I-55 and I-72, the forklift usually becomes the limit before the roof does.
