Pallet Racks in Jacksonville, IL
We design, quote and install pallet racks in Jacksonville for food plants and consumer-packaged-goods warehouses. About 35 miles west of our office, I-72 and US-67 connect these operations to truck routes. Warehouse racking here needs to separate finished goods, packaging and ingredients, with layouts planned around cooler or freezer temperatures where needed.
For plants along East Morton Avenue and the I-72 corridor, we plan food-grade selective pallet racks, drive in pallet rack and cold-storage layouts around pallet sizes, load weights and forklift reach.
Pallet Racks for Jacksonville Food and CPG Plants
Finished-goods warehouses at a food plant tend to hold big runs of a small number of SKUs. Drive-in pallet rack stores those lots deep and cuts the number of aisles. Selective pallet racks handle ingredients and packaging, where each pallet needs its own spot.
Clean-down matters in food buildings. We keep the lowest beam high enough to sweep under and leave room at row ends for inspections.
Warehouse Racking Along Jacksonville's East Morton Avenue
The Tri County Industrial Site offers 82 shovel-ready acres on East Morton Avenue with Norfolk Southern access, next to existing plastics, packaging and food plants. Down the road, a former 290,000 SF food manufacturing, warehousing and cold-storage complex has 30 ft ceilings and rail service.
Thirty feet is tall for this part of Illinois. We set warehouse racking levels from the loaded pallet height, beam spacing and forklift reach. The drawing shows how many storage levels fit without taking space needed for receiving and staging.

Packaging and Ingredient Rack
Food plants carry more packaging SKUs than most people expect: film, cartons, labels, trays and corrugate in several sizes. Those pallets are light but bulky, and they often overhang. We check heights and footprints so lightweight packaging does not get parked on beams rated far beyond what it needs.
Ingredients are the opposite: heavy, dense and often in bags or totes. Splitting packaging and ingredients into separate rack zones lets each one be sized correctly.
Seasonal Swings at the Plant
CPG demand rises and falls through the year. A layout with a block of selective rack that can flex between finished goods and ingredients keeps a plant from renting outside space every peak.
Forklifts in Food Warehouses
Many food plants run electric sit-down trucks indoors, and some use reach trucks in their tallest rooms. Aisle width follows the truck. A reach truck can work an aisle several feet narrower, which in a 30 ft building can mean an extra row of rack. We draw both versions when a plant is deciding on new equipment.
Drive-In and Pallet Flow Rack for Cold Storage
Freezer rooms are hard on steel and on people. We specify rack that handles low temperatures and condensation, and we plan install crews around working shifts in the cold. For product that must rotate by date, pallet flow rack feeds the oldest pallet to the pick side every time.
South Jacksonville and Trucking Access
Village Acres Business Park covers 24 acres at South Main Street (Route 267) and I-72 in South Jacksonville. The region also has three motor freight terminals, and I-55 is about 29 miles east. If a plant expansion means moving rack across town, our relocation crew handles the teardown, labeling and reinstall.
