Pallet Flow Rack in Springfield, IL
Pallet flow rack uses gravity rollers to carry pallets from the loading side to the pick side. The first pallet in is always the first pallet out. For grocery distribution and cold storage, where dates matter, that rotation happens without extra forklift moves.
Springfield's food and grocery distribution, including cold storage and freezer space, is where we plan most of it.
Grocery Distribution and Date Rotation
Grocery warehouses replenish from one aisle and pick from another. Pallet flow separates the two, so restocking never blocks picking. Lanes are sized to pallet weight and length, with speed controllers to keep loads moving smoothly.
Each lane holds one SKU, and the oldest pallet always sits at the pick face. That makes rotation automatic.

Cold Storage and Freezer Flow Rack
Food and ag storage often needs cooler or freezer space. Low temperatures and condensation are hard on rollers and steel, so we specify components meant for cold rooms. In a freezer, every aisle removed saves on the cost of keeping space cold, and pallet flow removes a lot of aisles.
Pallet condition matters in flow lanes. Broken boards can hang up on rollers, especially when wet pallets freeze. We review your pallet type before choosing roller spacing.
Where We Plan Pallet Flow
Inside Springfield, the Springfield Industrial Park off I-55 and the dual-rail industrial site near the I-72 interchange west of the city both draw food distribution. Outside town, we plan flow rack for food plants on East Morton Avenue in Jacksonville, pork-processing cold storage in Beardstown and temperature-controlled 3PLs in Decatur.
